Nowadays children need to be given real life experience in order to allow them to know the outside world where they live, especially in understanding the need to breed livestock. As Muslims it is our duty to learn to cultivate the livestock for our food supply so that we will become independent society.

Therefore, on Saturday, March 31, 2018 (Rajab 14, 1439 Hegira year), Daarul Quran Kalibata City Primary School Jakarta had a fieldtrip to Kuntum Farm Field in Tajur, Bogor, West Java. As many as fourteen students and twenty teachers and staffs had the opportunity to witness the grace of the Almighty Allah’s creations through a fantastic and an unforgettable experience of visiting the farm.

There was also parenting session delivered by Dr. Benny Al-Farisi, S.Pd., MM., who reminded the audience about the importance of “valuable times” spent together between parents and children, and effective ways to avoid the negative impact of globalization with intensive interaction between children and their parents.

Students also had the opportunity to watch the graceful movement of the swans and geese, the swift moves of rabbits and hamsters, and the ever hungry goats and cows who kept on asking for food.

“This is a good opportunity for our students to understand the need to farm the livestock as they are our daily source of food,” said Drs. H. Sukman Hermawan, Head of the Full day Bureau of Daqu Schools when asked about the purpose of the fieldtrip.

“I learned a lot from this school’s Fieldtrip to Kuntum Farmfield, Bogor. As students we need to realize the importance of planting the trees as they are part of our ecosystem,” said Rahma Puti Syarifah, a grade 5 student who was so blessed to be able to visit the place with her mother.
