On Friday, August 23, 2019, (22 Zulhijjah 1440 Hijriah), Daqu Kalibata City Primary School had the opportunity of conducting the vaccination program for students, especially for Grade 1 and Grade 5 students.

The purpose of this program is to prevent the spreading of the disease in Jakarta area caused by the bacteria known as Corynebacterium diphtheriae,  that may cause breathing trouble and even death among children. The plague has been an epidemy for these months; therefore the Jakarta government wants to prevent the outbreak, especially through vaccination.

According to  Ms.Lia, the head of School Clinical Unit (DaQu KalCit UKS), a t first many of the kids who had to take the vaccine were crying because they saw the syringes brought by doctors from the Rawajati community health center (Puskesmas Rawajati, Pancoran, Jakarta Selatan), South Jakarta, nevertheless, since their teachers are well prepared to face such a problem, these kids managed to receive the Diphtheria vaccine and returned home laughing and feeling proud, since now they have become immune to the disease.

According to Mr. Fatkhurohman, S.Pd.,I,  this program has the purpose of strengthening students’ physical strength in facing the threats of diseases and illnesses.

There is also the young doctor program held on Thursday, August 29, 2019, that has the purpose of preparing the kids for their future profession. Only by training hard to be little doctors then will they understand the difficult and tedious job of doctors, nurses, and medical services at the hospital.

This activity has the purpose of establishing a strong Muslim generation as prescribed in the Holy Quran surah Ali Imraan verse 110: “ You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.” (drmwn-daqu-kalcit)
