On Tuesday to Wednesday, February 27-28, 2018 (Jumadil Akhir 11-12, 1439), students of SD Daqu Kalibata City Jakarta had the program of The Outbound and Camping, as an annual program of the school. SD Daarul Quran Kalibata City has held this event in the scenic and out-of-the-hectic Jakarta Metropolitan city for the purpose to give its students a golden opportunity to breathe fresh air and to immerse with nature, as it is a gift from Allah Azza Wa Jalla.

On the Outbound program on Tuesday, 27/02/18,  a new method is introduced; that is the Spiritual Therapy which was given by Mr. Aditya. He is the leader of the outbound team building support who conducted the contemplative program for students and teachers, all of us sat cross legging under the shade of the  fresh pine forest of Gunung Pancar, Sentul, Babakan Madang, Bogor, West Java.

Students are asked to have a self contemplation, or Muhasabah, on how their parents have given their sacrifice and their best efforts for the success of their children. Many students cried and wept on recalling their ignorance and naughtiness to their father and mother, and they promised in their heart that they will not ignore their parents’ and teachers’ advice anymore.

According to Muhammad Zubair of Grade 5 SD Daqu Kalibata City, this contemplation or Muhasabah program is really useful in helping his friends realize their mistakes to their parents. “Now my friends stop playing around and mocking their friends anymore, because they know that it is a bad thing to do”, said Zubair enthusiastically when asked about this event.

Starting from this outbound and camping program now they understand that it is the outmost importance to respect parents and teachers.  Parents and teachers are the ones who will guide their children to be successful persons, both in their career and in their spiritual life.

On early Wednesday morning, students and teachers had the morning exercise, such as aerobics and jogging. As we all know, our body needs regular physical activity in order to maintain strength, stamina, cardiovascular health and proper blood circulation. Our mind also needs activity to stay sharp and balanced. It is recommended that adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of intense aerobic activity per week. The benefits of living an active life are significant, and it doesn’t take that much effort to reap the rewards.

Physical activity that we do improves our immune system and helps us stave off illness, such as the common cold, as well as decreases your risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. Exercise and sports help us lose and maintain a healthy weight.

Physical activity that the Daqu students and teachers do improves blood circulation, increases coordination and stamina, prevents bone loss and may help them stay fresh. An active lifestyle can reduce coronary heart disease by 30 to 40 percent. Additionally, moderate exercise can reduce our chance of getting a stroke by 20 percent, which increases to 27 percent with regular, intense physical activity.

Exercise and activity increases chemicals in our brain such as endorphins, adrenaline and serotonin, which improves our mood, decreases depression, improves executive functioning skills, helps you manage stress and boosts your energy level. Playing sports is a social activity that can help us meet people, make new friends and increases self-esteem.

That is why in the Daqu camp all students, teachers and staffs have to develop “Quwwatul Jasadiyya” (Physical strength) as recommended by our prophet Muhammad SAW: “The one who is physically stronger is better in the sight of Allah SWT because they are more active and energetic in the performance of worship and taking care of the needs of others”.
