On Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in accordance with the 1st Rabiul Akhir 1439 Hijriah, Daqu Kalibata City Primary School had the opportunity of conducting the Diphteria vaccination program for students, especially for Grade 1 and Grade 2 students.

The purpose of this program is to prevent the spreading of the disease in Jakarta area caused by the bacteria known as Corynebacterium diphtheriae,  that may cause breathing trouble and even death among children. The plague has been an epidemy for these months; therefore the Jakarta government wants to prevent the outbreak, especially through vaccination.

At first many of the kids who had to take the vaccine were crying because they saw the syringes brought by doctors from the Rawajati community health center (Puskesmas Rawajati), nevertheless, since their teachers are well prepared to face such a problem, these kids managed to receive the Diphtheria vaccine and returned home laughing and feeling proud, since now they have become immune to the disease.

This activity has the purpose of establishing a strong Muslim generation as prescribed in the Holy Quran surah Ali Imraan verse 110: “ You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.”
